FAWCE, Chief Technology Officer
BA in Engineering Sciences & in
Mechanics and Materials
Harvard

“Our customers see technology as a way to compete more effectively
and increase their returns. It's nice to work for people who appreciate your
craft.” |
| As Tamale’s first employee / customer, Fawce has been responsible for every aspect of the RMS. He continues to use the Tamale RMS because it keeps him in touch with the product, and also because it makes him more effective in client conversations, in technology research, in strategic planning, and in managing R&D. |

Q: |
What is your role at Tamale? |
A: |
I establish the business strategy with the executive team, and translate it into a technology strategy and a system architecture. I enjoy what I do: side-by-side programming, sketching architecture, and meeting one-on-one with R&D team members.

Q: |
What’s the coolest thing you’ve done at Tamale? |
A: |
Convincing our board to
open-source csil and monju was pretty cool, but naming the first internal Tamale system for my wife has to rate high. I had been so busy and sleeping at the office so much that I missed our
wedding anniversary. She delivered a
futon, pillow, and blanket as an anniversary gift. (That's the coolest thing my wife has ever done at Tamale, but I can take credit for it.)

Q: |
What do you tell friends and family who ask what you do? |
A: |
I tell them I'm a software engineer, and I'm creating a system that enables investment professionals to be more efficient and to make better decisions.

Q: |
What do you love to do outside of work? |
A: |
I love to read, write, and travel. Preferably I write about traveling while traveling, and write about reading when I am home. I like to run, but I like finding good running routes and then writing about them even more. I also do some armchair politicking, but writing about politics is better.
