Senior Systems Engineer | BOSTON

Tamale Software is looking for a Senior Systems Software Engineer with 5+ years of experience with Java and / or C# to join our Knowledge Analytics Team.
The position will involve implementing powerful analytics to help navigate, visualize and extract information from research data for the alternative investment market. The ideal candidate will have a passion for extracting information from a variety of quantitative and unstructured non-quantitative data structures. We are also looking for individuals who have the ability to work and flourish in a high-responsibility, low-touch start-up environment. Responsibilities will include:

 |
|
On the client and server side, integrating new features to display information rich views of research on publicly traded companies. |
|
|
|
|
Interfacing the Tamale system with third-party data providers. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Required: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent. |
|
|
|
|
5+ years of professional software development, with a track record of delivering high-quality products. |
|
|
|
|
A solid grasp of the full software development and maintenance life-cycles, design patterns, and n-tier distributed architectures. |
|
|
|
|
Strong database skills. |
|
|
|
|
|
Preferred: |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
Experience dealing with financial market data and/or financial news is a definite plus although the ideal candidate will have a broad range of experience, including large volumes of high frequency time series data. |
|
|
|
|
Experience with ILOG JViews and/or JBOSS Seam. |
|
|
|
|
Familiarity with PostgreSQL. |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
